Shortcut Coffee Co. makes single-serve hot beverages that brew with hot water directly inside a heat-safe pouch — no mug required. Built for cabins, trailheads, vans, and anywhere coffee feels inconvenient.

It’s simple:

1. Pull off tab on cap, then turn to break caps seal before adding water
2. Reseal cap, then tear off the top to open the pouch
3. Add room temperature water to cover powder through opening
4. zip shut and shake till dissolved
5. Carefully fill with hot (not boiling) water to the fill line
6. Let rest until comfortable to hold, zip shut and drink from spout*

Any hot water source works, including:

• Camp stove or Jetboil
• Cabin or backcountry kettle
• Electric kettle or hot water tap
• Thermos or insulated bottle with hot water
• Hotel or lodge hot water sources

No. Shortcut uses instantized ingredients that mix quickly with hot water. There is no steeping time, filters or brewing equipment required.

Yes. Shortcut is designed for hot use, but the blends can also be mixed with cold water when hot water isn’t available. Stir or shake longer for best results.

We will be starting out with a Hot Carob blend but plan to expand our selection to more caffeine and caffeine-free blends in the future

Yes. Our pouches are made from food-safe, heat-rated materials and are designed specifically to hold hot liquids. They are BPA-free and intended to be sipped from directly.

No. The pouch doubles as the mug. That’s the whole point — no extra gear, no dishes.

Regular instant coffee still requires a mug, creamers, sugar and cleanup. Shortcut is a complete, pre-blended drink in a heat-safe pouch. You just add hot water and sip:

Our blends contain coconut (a tree nut) due to the coconut milk ingredients. Please review allergen information if you have sensitivities.

Shortcut pouches have a two year shelf-life thanks to dehydrated ingredients and moisture-resistant packaging. Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight for best quality.
